This month I have information concerning my gallery and new features in both DevantArt Guides, Artist Features, and Contests sections. Look for the features in DevaintArt Guides and Contests that has the word “new” in front of them.

Also, I want to say that I finally know how to show people avatars on journals, thanks to me observing a certain someone who does it. I'm just a bit proud of myself of doing this and learning a bit more on html coding.^_^ This is my first time.

INTRO

For anyone who’s visiting this webpage for the first time my name is Joshquinn Andrews. I’m a comic artist in training to become a advance artist. I call myself the “Natural Mangaka.” (Natural = relating to nature and mangaka is Japanese for comic artist) From reading those two definitions you should know what that title I made up means. Anyway, I’m a 20 years old male who looks and at time act young for his age. My hobbies are exercising, gardening, drawing, reading books I like, writing stories, and playing video games. My career goal is to be both a wildlife biologist and professional comic artist.

The Literary Divide - [link] This is an editorial for writers who are having trouble getting their stories, poems, etc notice on this website. John talks about why is writers have a tough time getting their writings notice on DeviantArt and explain ways that you can get people to read your writings on this website.

GALLERY UPDATE

Literature:

I have been both tired and a bit of a wreck for the past few days. I feel better now, and I don’t want to sound like I am making excuses, but I want to express myself for a bit. I can’t finish those journals fast enough. I’m seems to not have enough tolerance when it comes to writing most non fiction stuff and as a result I feel tired and I’m consuming my time to finish one journal a day, but it never works out. I’m just going to work at them at a slow rate by finishing a part the journals a day until they are complete. Also, I am getting another account on DA that would be active starting next month. I chose to do it next month so I can let everyone know ahead of time. The account would be focus on literature. So far I am planning to put poetry, rants and my journals on that account, which leads to the next thing. The monthly journals would be moving to another account. The pass monthly journal entries. Starting next month the monthly journals would be on that new account. Oh and just so there won’t be any misunderstandings, I still would be using this account. Getting another account is a part of an idea I came up with where I make different accounts for each category of the creations I male. Literature is just the first of the few I would be doing. This gallery is going to serve as a main gallery for my art (Like a main base from what I’m thinking.).

Drawings:

I didn’t manage to finish some of the contest entries like I said, but oh well. I might still be entering more contests, but I’m planning to spend most of my time training to become a better artist. That’s all I have to say about this part of the gallery update.

CONTEST FEATURES

This month contest features are:


Drawing Contests:

(new) Seven Deadly Sins Contest sponsor by the Traditional - Artist Club. As the title of this contest says the object of the contest is to draw a picture representing one, some, or all of the seven deadly sins. (One picture per entry, though) As the name of the club says, the picture has to be made using traditional mediums (no computer art programs). Also, I think you have to be a part of the club to enter. The contest ends Monday, October 26th. You can learn more about the contest here. [link] [link]

Transcendence Interpretation Contest sponsor by Skylar Urbaniak (but she prefers to be called “Lyru.” - Her contest is going to start in mid September. You can learn more here. [link] Also, I think she mention in her journal that this contest would end in November, but I haven’t seen that date since. Anyone who’s interested in participating would want to ask her about that, so you know how long you have to get your entries in.


Contest Using Mixed Mediums:

(New) Go Green Contest – The moment I heard about this contest it immediately got my attention. The contest is sponsor by Wenqing Yan. Unlike most contest the object of this contest Is not about making your entry look as good as you can. Instead there are two objectives to this contest. The first one is to create a motivational piece of Art that motivates people to help and respect nature. The second objective is to get as many people to see this picture as you possibly can. You can get people who are apart of DeviantArt or apart of other community websites to look at your entries. If you achieve these two you would have a high chance of winning while doing your part in helping God and his planet. The contest started on September 7th and ends in November 10th at 11:59 a.m. You can learn more here. [link]

(new) Tutorials Contest sponsor by the Traditional - Artist Club - Another contest sponsor by that club that is being run along side the “Seven Deadly Sins Contest. As the name says the object of the contest is to make a tutorial about anything relating to making art. I think the contest started on September 1rst and it ends two months later after the “Seven Deadly Sins Contest” on December 31rst. You probably have to be a member of the club to enter this as well. (new) Wallper and digital Extras contest sponsor by Cetriya - The contest is simple. You can either take one of Cetriya pictures and turn it into somthing like wallpaper and stationary or draw a far art picture of one of her characters.
